You can find my detailed CV on LinkedIn (English) on XING (German).
I am providing consulting and project management services to the publishing industry since 2016. I have successfully completed several projects for STM, educational, newspaper, and special interest publishing companies as well as for software companies.
Before that, I was Director of Information and Publishing Technology at academic publisher De Gruyter for nearly 11 years and in that role responsible for all of IT and Publishing Technology.
I have worked extensively with service providers all around the world, leading many RFP processes, system migrations, system implementations, and consolidations as well as shaping and implementing the digital strategy of the company.
Parallel to that I have also been teaching seminars on E-Publishing and Project Management at the German Media Academy since 2009 and have developed a strong network in the academic publishing industry over the years. I was a member of the Crossref Board of Directors from 2012-2015 and collaborated in various working groups of industry/trade organizations in Germany. Firmly believing in sharing experiences and best practices, I am a regular speaker at industry events (Selection of presentations and publications).
Before my time in the publishing industry I worked as a software developer, project manager, and server administrator in various projects in the Digital Humanities. After graduating with my M.A. in Computational Linguistics, English Linguistics, and German Linguistics I also worked as a research and teaching assistant, coordinating multidisciplinary, international research teams and teaching undergraduate classes at university. Before and during my time at university, I started my professional career in the music industry by founding a record label and mail order business as well as freelancing as tour and event manager for eight years.
